bad kitty

for some reason or other.. 5 or so stray cats will insist on sleeping under my car. ev'ry freakin night, rain or shine.
it doesn't matter how many times i chased em out yelling 'bad kittyyy baddd bad kittyy' ( cat chasing lesson by Saamia) they'll still come back and sleep and sometimes poop within the compounds.
maybe my car tyres smelled like fish.

well yeah. i became a year older. felt like time's zooming too fast as usual.
glad to receive ev'one's wishes.. guess i haven't become invisible. yet.

and in a few days time.. will be another year for all of us.
to me this year was the best year of my life, and i am glad i took the chance.
hoping the upcoming year will be a better one.
at the moment..my shopping list is longer than my new year's resolution list, as there's zilch on that list compared to the 20 or so must buy item of 2010.

at the moment tho..i'm just pretty bored.

owh yeah..what do u do if a 5 yrs old crush came crashing back? =P

moved! yeah. although the rent is a pain in the ass and the travel time to work is now 30 mins on normal mornings, not having to face other people on my own sweet time is heavenly. yay. now i need someone who can loan me a hammer, some nails and a screwdriver. erm. and maybe a maid. a lengchai preferably.

and i don't mean the one on TV, the one with that guy from Angel.

the general rule of having housemates would be first and foremost, reduce irritation to the lowest possible level. one shouldn't irritate the other based on what one's definition of irritating action could be.

shrieking at 1 in the morning, belting out a song and getting the lyrics wrong should be carved permanently, in blood, into that Irritating Actions list. more so if the action will wake up the rest of the household. more so if the shrieking only consists of the same line, over and over, designed to purposely torture a half awake, half in Korea mind.

biar putih tuuuuuuulaaaaaaaang..||PAUSE||. biar putih tuuuuulaaaaaannggg.

or maybe.. the general rule of having housemates should be one shouldn't be having housemates in the first place.
especially if one is a well known hermit to begin with.

There’s this account executive who used to be from Sales who came up to my place to exclaim in a high pitch voice so as not to let anyone in the vicinity miss what she’s about to proclaim, who blurted out that I’ve grown fatter; and in a candid matter, specifically pointed out the obvious fat proportion increase on my face and my butt. So much for the ‘disappear for one year’ theory.

killing time. And fat layers

Posted by vash1282 on 11/04/2009 09:33:00 AM in
after a few hundred days of deliberate slobbing with the occasional reading to keep the neurons alive.. i stepped foot on menara tm. not expecting any changes. except maybe hoping they'd changed San Francissco coffee to Dominoes Pizza. or just Mc D. overpriced coffees are just not the in thing anymore. and the first thing i saw was jin notti. and mawi's face. i actually stood in front of that poster.. trying to fathom notti. and the fact that mawi's face is welcoming people to menara tm, and why we are helping to alert the masses on his attempt at acting. and then i saw the phrase 'jgn naughty-naughty'. owh..the notti jigsaws falls to places. and then i remembered cheeps also approved of mawi.. somewhere along the reasoning that he can sell stuffs cuz he's a people's person. i meant mawi. not cheeps. and another jigsaw piece fits the puzzle. the Mamees sale must've been record breaking.

there was a girl crying next to the stall i'm using in the ladies. it was a heart wrenching, continuous kind of sobbing that makes me felt so uneasy and depressed at the same time. so i attempted a speedy exit. only to collide with her in our haste to speed to the mirrored wall. and continued her sobbing next to me. i tried to resume my escape route.. but she asked for tissue. her face was the absolute picasso. streaks of blacks and blues. the art of semi waterproof eye makeup. she should've used Clinique. it must be a guy problem. if it's an office problem she would've cried in front of her boss wouldn't she. i never asked.. but i heard a positively loaded barfing sound as i went out.
maybe it's not a guy. maybe she just weighed herself. it was post-lunch hour time after all.

owh.. and although kak ina and cheeps adamantly disagreed.. people kept telling me i am thinner now. and taller. somehow. although i wore the same 3" heels that i wore before i left.. and although i weighed practically the same as one year before .. i'd rather believe what people told me. someone once said believing will make things happen. i think i read it in The Secret.
i should've told the sobbing girl to just stay away from her friends for one year.. and she'll come back thinner. barfing into public sinks isn't going to work. unless she can selectively barf out fat layers.

the facebook invasion

Posted by vash1282 on 9/28/2009 11:47:00 PM in
i'm like.. surfing the net mindlessly like all homeless person would do when they are dead bored with nowhere to go but the lab. i'm also in grave danger of posting one entry per hour if i can't find anything better to do with my mind anytime soon.
and so i turned to the universal mind numbing solution. Nope they don't have the Astro here.
just facebook.

and found out that i have hundreds of notification/requests.. half of which are farmers wannabe on Farmville, requesting to be neighbours and whatnots. and the rest are invitations to the usual idiot quizzes in the line of 'apa maksud personaliti di sebalik kuih raya kegemaran anda' or 'ramal nasib anda bersama Pak Nujum'. well yeah...it defies my intelligence as to why anyone would want to find a link between their hard found personalities and Almond London, other than finding out they might be potentially diabetic, but people do go bonkers on facebook don't they?

Last month an 18 yrs old teenager here was arrested for bullying a schoolmate on fb. read here.
and we've all read about the numerous divorces and fights caused by fb.
and who haven't heard about the rumours about fb being owned and monitored by the CIA.
Earlier this month, the fb team announced that if fb were a country, it'll be the third largest in the world, with 300 million active users, homeless or otherwise.

my point being, fb is now such a commanding presence in our lives, at par with google and wiki, only worse, cuz it causes large scale addictions with brain rot possiblities as the side effects. and if almost one third of the world are puzzling through these biscuit personality quizes as well, it's no wonder i'm hearing the aliens cackling with mirth everynight..

now excuse me while i accept a Baju Raya request...

11.01 pm.. alone in my lab..bidding goodbye to the stuffs that has been an excellent companion to me this past year. good listeners and never disagrees with me on any occasion. the PCs, the smartphones, the sensors, large screen monitors.. i'm gonna miss all of you. not surprisingly, no living things will miss me, nor i them.

will be staying here all night until the flight home tomorrow..playing diner dash and doing the occasional soul searching when i get bored of serving tables...all the while wondering where did the Time went to..

If Time is a living thing.. it'll probably be chilling out at Greenwich.. it's like the perfect Time home. The clocks and time gadgets there, from ancient sun clock to digital grandfather clocks, it could make any Sylar a tinkering happy man.

what are the odds?

Posted by vash1282 on 9/28/2009 12:57:00 PM in
what are the odds that a mutated apple is found, halved with different colors in a perfectly symmetrical line? 2 days ago it was found by a 72 years old fruit grower in Devon, and it was pretty fascinating to me. the first thing to pop in my mind was.. what about the taste? would you be able to taste both the sweet red apple, and the slightly sourer green apple, all in one fruit?
well they say.. just like the original apple, the red side will taste sweeter as it has seen more sunshine during its growth..

and the odds of getting this xman apple.. is one in a million...

and what are the odds of me getting an award for masters with distinction? well that too.. is about one half of a million chance..like the odds of getting a purple striped apple.
but i seemed to be lucky these days.
Well dad..now you can't say that all I do here is getting on and off trains and flights ..
some useful stuffs do get stuck in my head at one point or another..somehow..

the arts of evolution

Posted by vash1282 on 9/27/2009 09:42:00 AM in
had an interesting conversation with a fellow alien watcher a while back.
nope.not about feet, enticing or otherwise.
we were killing time with reruns of South Park, and suddenly felt like Kyle's immortality is getting pretty irritating. void of other distractions and determined not to do our actual job,
we talked.
and the theory of evolution crept up. having been brought up in a typical English household.. he was fed the full package of storks and babies, santas and tooth fairies..and of course, the theory of evolving apes. as much as we both agreed that all Brits are born bonkers, it had always makes him uncomfortable to know that every members of his family believes that they came from apes.

Given the alternative, he'd rather believe that Jesus blows Adam and Eve from his nostrils. Or the Big Bang blows up some random planet, sending alien sperms and ovums flying over to Earth, mating on the way... and Adam was actually a green man with feelers on his head.

Told him the Muslim's version of evolution, where the Quran describes all living things are made of water, devils from fire, and the human, being a special case, a creation with soul and knowledge, was made from clay..and hence human have a fundamental attachment to the Earth.
He seems to like this explanation better, even if its for no other reason than this version of evolution theory does not include upgrading him from an ape. or storks. or flying sperms.

-oh dear, then Pinocchio was actually a factory defect item wasn't he?
*Pinocchio wasn't clay u idiot. he was just a self pitying bit of wood with a Brit's nose.
-but why apes though? why not bears? or pandas..
*Charles Darwin was a Brit. They go bonkers for apes, Katie Price and Harry Potter.

the colors of raya

Posted by vash1282 on 9/24/2009 10:05:00 AM in
road trips aside, the raya i had this year was an all together a super miserable affair.
not that i missed the balik kampung trips that usually involves 8 sugar high kids using high pitched bickering in various frequencies while attempting murder to each other out of boredom, stuck in a space limited van for an excruciating 5 hours drive. And i most certainly did not miss the golden bonanza question that every relatives will valiantly try to ask, subtly or out right, of the estimate timeline of the year that i will successfully managed to hoodwink a decent, unsuspecting guy into the family. (to which the template answer will be, wonbin is still busy acting and have a fully booked calendar..)

well it's all generally cuz of people..or thereby lack of. since i always tried my damdenest to steer away from the crowd..i generally get what i wished for , like the grinch who hates christmas, minus the snow and egg nogs. worked the night before, and the night after..and basically just didn't see any of my friends for the whole week of raya. because of work, because i didn't feel like it, because i was just a miserable excuse of a raya grinch who had the conscience not to go raining on anyone's parade. and that parade being the super excited students in their flowing, colorful baju kurungs whipped silly in all directions, completely useless against the gale of autumn winds.

and i spent the week just following my whims. went shopping, went roadtripping everywhere from the peak of the Wales mountain to Greenwhich's main meridian line, only to feel the same indifference. i guess it's time i seek the company of people once again.
well, maybe not nosey relatives just yet. just those 7 high pitched brats.

finally.. everything is wrapped up and tangled knots are straightened out.
it's that dismal moment that hit you slowly and surely, like a drop of water hitting a tin bowl in a still room. clearly , precisely..and the hits comes faster one after the other.
it's when when you realised that your time is up and you have to go back to reality.
i am on borrowed land, on borrowed time, but the fun i had was all mine.

went cycling along the beautiful coast of the Seven Sisters..and it was the best day of my life.

To everyone else..I wish the same joy in this last few days of Ramadhan.. Selamat Hari Raya Aidlifitri, Maaf Zahir dan Batin.

And I'll be seeing you guys soon! ~(^_^)~

what was i thinking?

Posted by vash1282 on 9/16/2009 01:13:00 AM in
the project demo went on without a glitch. the super stupid smartphone does what it is supposed to do without me having to poke holes on its screen as usual.
in fact.. the demo went on so smoothly that i found myself having to attend the 4th european conference on smart sensing, and do yet another demo.
at the time..i will agree to anything as long as the lecturer can guarantee me a pass.
but now that all i can think about is packing and last minute road trips and shopping and packing and just plain playing around because everyone around me has either already gone back home or has sent their brain back home.
i mean, why bother? i have already graduated haven't i. owh the friggin mess of it all.
and as usual, i panicked about having to speak in front a sea of eggheads and whitebeards who'll probablly snicker at me just because i'm not bald enough to join their club.
what the hell was i thinking when i said yes?
blooddyyyy hell.

please mind the gap between the train and the platform edge

It's my 2nd Ramadhan here..and I'm still not used to it.
Frankly, I don't like fasting here. I miss the food, and I miss doing terawih prayers with others in nearby mosques. I don't mind fasting alone, but today in particular, I hate it.

Due to some messed up schedule and frantic looking for coverups..which is due to me taking off to Paris in the middle of the week, today I am stuck with a 24 hours shift. This means that on the first day of Ramadhan, I will be breaking fast in this stupid log cabin inside this stupid jungle, and also having to do my terawih and sahur here. To make matters worse, I still have loads to do for my final VIVA on Monday. I should be in the lab instead of staring at some dirty war tankers and transmission dishes. So I am feeling as miserable as a wet cat with a bullet in its tail.

Having done my whinings for today..I wish a more enjoyable Ramadhan to everyone else, may all of us receive His blessings and guidance, and may our prayers reached Him in acceptance. Salam Ramadhan al Mubarak, Maaf Zahir dan Batin.

that said.. I'm starting to packup.. and I will miss that melodius strict warning on the trains.. please mind the gap between the train and the platform edge.

chasing the sunlight

Posted by vash1282 on 7/11/2009 10:51:00 PM in
a few days back.. I had to go and demo some testing result on the smartphone which is so crappy I can't remember what's the brand. some UK brand. and because it was so crappy it only works fine within the safe 4 walls of my lab. when i brought it upstairs to that ex-wrestler whose face is so grim you don't know whether he's cracking a dumb joke or reading an obituary, the crappy thing just refuses to give the correct result no matter how many holes u poke into the crappy screen with the equally crappy stylus.
I didn't get anything good from that meeting, just more tasks. and a virus.
and The Grim, he said "you write your code like a girl".
"huh?"
"girls. always so complicated.when a man program, the code is simple and it works"
"huh?"
"yeah.just look at a girl's wall.. then compare it to a boy's wall..nothing.clean."

you mean after they strip off the nude posters?

and because I can't tell whether he's joking or actually being insulting...i'll take the comment constructively.. and replace my code with ABC.
and then he passed on his virus that he got from German.

and then I got the same miserable flu. with joint aches. and extreme fatigue.
maybe it's not the pig thingy. Joint aches..probably cuz I always bang myself too much on any door handles, lockers and fridge. and fatigue due to the blazing sun that was making the summer pretty painful to live through.

and then I went to Rome.and then to Venice.
And just like that.. the flu went away. The German virus is now passed on to the Italians.

hot stuffs

Posted by vash1282 on 7/03/2009 09:45:00 AM
although we don't really need it in the summer, one of my friends do face this problem. as do half the students living in that court.
no hot water on campus. when it's too cold to take a bath, and when she can't stand the smell of her own armpit anymore.. she'll come and take a bath in my shower. thankfully, that problem never happens to me, the benefits of paying double rental and burning a hole in my pocket i guess.

at that time.. why didn't we think of this..

"I live in an academic hostel of Warsaw University of Technology. Unfortunately, we don’t have hot water in our rooms, it’s only in kitchen and toilet outside. This inconvenience caused me to think about hot water. Commercial heaters are to expensive to students, it’s also a problem to assemble without temporary cutting off the water. Beside of that, the fuses would be immediately blown.

The cheapest device that have an electric heater is a cordless kettle. Some glue, a bottle and a pipe… voila! The hot water flows."

quote credit of ' there, i fixed it'.

diet talk

Posted by vash1282 on 7/03/2009 06:24:00 AM in
seems like ev'one's picky about their food nowadays.
dolu2 blasah je. lepas belari or main games..bley je belasah nasik lemak, big mac, etc etc.
dekat sini..where ev'thing's made of cheese and grease.. kalau hari2 belasah, lidi pon bley membesar jadi kayu balak.
so kalau gemok..mmg kene salahkan makanan. that and lazy ass.

although i have been running again for some times here... i still can't be that picky about foods. i meant.. a greasy and cheesy lamb doner against a buncha green leaves? heck.. it only takes a second to decide.. and about 1 hour of guilt time afterwards.

and then this survey came out in the news. Suddenly a serving of Big Mac and medium fries is a healthier diet than salads.

"survey by consumer watchdog Which? found Morrisons' Smedleys Atlantic Prawn Marie Rose Salad contained 855 calories and 66.3g fat - more than a McDonald's Big Mac and medium fries and 70% of the fat a man should eat in a day." read it in full here.

i guess that means no more guilt time. meat over greens! it makes sense.. in a convoluted kinda way. we are carnivorous humans aren't we. and if i got fatter, i'll always blame it on the cheese.

for those who are more disciplined than i am.. just eat yr greens without the dressings.
the sheeps and rabbits can do it .. so can u. heh. i can't. I'm more of a tiger person.

I know I bitched about it being cold here. and now I have to bitch about it being sweltering hot.
Served with the hottest summer in 3 years with Surrey being the hottest hot spot (figures)..the brits didn't know what hit 'em.
The table fans are sold out in the town .. now you need to reserve a fan for crying out lout.
At the campus, and in the office.. people walk around without their tops on. kalau yg six packs tu ok la..kalau yg beer bellies tu..ughh takyah la nak bukak jugakk.
A few days ago some teens in Liverpool went crazy and light a man, who was napping in the middle of the field, sunbathing, they light him on fire. i told ya..crazy brits. the heat got 'em good.

Today it was a sweltering 30 degree celcius..dah macam kat malaysia. Ingatkan duduk sini bley putih sket.. makin itam legam adela.

road scenes

Another trip up north..and we are driving this time. the last time we went to Scotland was on a low cost flight, and it was scary. The flight was jumpy and erratic and is anything but smooth, and the landing was like there was 3 years old in the cockpit playing with all the switches.
The pilot, tried to cheer everyone up by blasting an annoyingly loud happy siren upon landing.. tantarannntaraaaaaaa. Listening to that while nursing a lurching tummy is enough to make the passengers line up to kill whoever it is in that bloody cockpit.

well this time, it was a fun road trip..minus some bad jokes and even worse riddles along the way.. but going to see the land of men in skirts another time is worth it. Scotland is officially now my fav trippin place (^_^)

There are usually 3 main reactions when people heard that I came from Malaysia.
The first one was an excited reaction, mostly from people from the Middle East, who either have spent some time of vacation there, or have relatives who have been there and raves about it.
The second reaction is what I will generally get from Nigerian people. They will sing the tagline
'Malaysia, Truly Asia' for you. Seriously. With the right pitching and all. Our Tourism Ministry must've done a helluva job advertising there.
The third reaction, is generally from white people... wearing dumbfounded faces when you show them youtube videos of KL. This is because.. years after they colonized Malaysia.. they are still thinking most people there still wear grass skirts and shoot birds with blowpipes for dinner, and worships white people. well..ok that one people still do.

It may be summer over here.. but the weather's winter most of the time.
Wisps of fog still came out from my mouth when I breathed and spoke, at noon.
The warmest it gets on some weekends..are around 22 degree where the sun really pierced through and get the english people coming out of their homes in droves to sunbath on the hills.
That will be like..once a week, if they are lucky. Like I said, most of the time it is winter,
setting gloomy moods throughout the week. Nak jalan tak boleh..nak buat keje pon takde mood. (kalau dah pemalas tu mmg pemalas la tak kira la cuaca camane pon)

So most of the time now, I am stuck in the wireless test bed lab. 2 months to go before everything will be wrapped up and I'll probably never bother to study again in my life after this.
For my dissertation, I am supposed to extend the functionalities of a mobile phone.
Let's say .. 2 years from now everyone became as cool as me and owns a smart iPhone.
And let's say.. by then people who doesn't have internet on their phones are just dead people, or pathetic people who are social outcasts. So with the internet and a cool phone, people should be able to manipulate all the things in their home, their fridge, their air-cont, their lights, their whatever freaking electronics.

In the hot summer, or if they work in the hot and stuffy all year Cyberjaya, .. one hour before going back home they could switch on their air-cont in their home, just with one click on a cool handphone.. and go home to a lovely and cooled room, and sleep. Or for people who hires savage indon maids to take care of their kids.. trigger the web cam in their home to send mms to their phone.. monitoring the indons poking at their kids with hot irons. Or.. just testing the temperature at home..from anywhere on earth.. to see if you idiots forgot to turn off your stove. (this thing really just have the future me in my mind)

well.. that's the vision. and if by any miracle I managed to get it to work.. I'll die happily having contributed to making the world a lazier place.. and increasing the carbon effects of air-conditioning.Until that is complete.. 2 months in this dusty lab..

Meanwhile.. what the other english people are doing in these blurry mornings..
all dressed up...doing everything from lolling around and tying up their shoe laces..
doing everything but rolling the ball. playing the laziest game on earth. lawn bowling.

His hair was long, up to his shoulder, stringy pale blond with streaks of gray.
His face, a wrinkled collection of tired features, a round thick pair of glasses covering his small, beady eyes. A skinny man, I would guess he is in his fifties, with white sneakers, a patched sweaters, and seasoned pair of jeans with frayed ends..he couldn't be bothered with hems. A short cigarette stub is fixed snugly between his fingers, and it looks like it has not been lit for weeks. When he talks, he will wave his hand around, the hand with the cigarette stub, maybe he thought that it will make people pay more attention when he is speaking, if he have a cigarette butt to show.

His voice was surprisingly pleasant, and his words came out articulately. Occasionally, he will cough in a gratingly painful sound but most of the time, he tried his best to finish his sentences.

I was sitting on a bench facing a sports field, when this man came and sit beside me. He told me that he used to work in the university campus, doing various odds and ends. And then he started talking about the tunnels. Mazes of underground tunnels connecting all of Guildford. Underneath university halls, student accomodations and connecting banks. The way he told the story is very mesmerizing, and his eyes lits up as he recollects the old days where the workers goes down there in pairs, with a piece of rope so as not to get lost in the mazes of 6 foot heat pipes. He said there was a completely different world down there, an underground world that only the people who knows about it can enjoy.

He's travelled to a lot of places in his youth. Played God walking on frozen seas near Russia's coast at minus 32 celcius. He said he was involved with the construction of Kuala Lumpur's central mosque. It does sounds a bit farfetched...but he is a good story teller. And it was pleasant to listen to. He talks about the electric brae in Ayrshire, Scotland, the hill that defies gravity, where cars roll uphill if the brakes are not pulled. People cycle downhill, but free wheel uphill. He tried to explain that double magnetic forces are at work overcoming natural gravitational pulls. It is a pretty intriguing explanation but I later found out it was just a very powerful optical illusion, it was the way the slope is inclined and its surrounding locations, that makes it looks, and feels like one is rolling uphill.

Apart from that... it was a pretty good conversation. With a homeless guy.

one of my shoe heel broke off embarassingly today in a sickening crack,
and suddenly i was 3 inches shorter.
considering this is a fairly new pair, i just had to wonder aloud..
is it the way i walk (and run) , or is it my weight , or is Clarks's workmanship just horribly overrated?

one guy on scene cruelly said the taboo line. 'u need to go on diet'
and i'm sure he doesn't mean to say a good diet can make me grow taller.

coming up from the dark underwater to take a gulp of freshair..

haven't been in contact with the people on land for days..scrounge around for the current pieces of news.. read with guffaws about the Arsenal fan in Kenya, rolled about laughing on the naked rednecks spotted running wild on Johor's isles, shook my head in disbelief at the continuing fiasco in Perak and finally choked on the news bit of the Kelantan woman who died over RM2.

The Kenyan hanged himself with an Arsenal's jersey, in disbelief over the team's defeat to Manchester United..tu baru betol2 diehard fan. At least die pilih sendiri nak mati sebab EPL..kalau die gi tengok piala FA kat kelantan aritu.. mungkin die mati tanpa rela sebab kene baling batu bata.

As for the naked rednecks..it made me recalled something amusing.... once when I was 16, on a school trip to Pulau Pangkor, there was this totally obessed man hanging around with us, shirtless. He's the schools fattest teacher, also the school's fiercest ogre, cikgu disiplin la katekan. No one dared to look at him in the face.. and he was spectacularly hated. I disliked him too, can't remember why, maybe just because he's fat. Everyone called him stuffs like buncit putih behind his back, he was blessed with this unnaturally fair skin. tak cukup color pixel pigment, agaknye.

Then he decided to strip down to his boxers, nak tunjuk terrer berenang kat budak2 pompuan..but unceremoniously slipped and rolled about in the sand. In the schorching sun, with the sand glistening all over his pompuous belly, the undignified lump of fat unanimously got a new nickname, Donut.

Somehow the images of the Denmarks rednecks rolling about naked on the Mersing's sands got me thinking of a buncha pompous donuts..

And that bit about the women in Kelantan who died cuz of a purse snatcher ...that pic of her kids watering her grave with an old kettle..it just sucked away any bit of chortling I still had over Donut memory. There are actually still some people who have to borrow RM2 to buy food for their kids. Now I wonder if the people busy playing musical chairs in Perak noticed that.

Back to the UK..aside from some hoohah over a minister using the people's tax money to pay for porn over cable tv..there wasn't much interesting news.

on a more local news, there's some kinda weird parade going on in town today that's pretty much ignored by the townsfolks...pasal sumer orang tengah tunggu Sainsbury bukak kedai..ada sale halfprice pada setiap hari ahad. Silap timing la buat parade.dahla maskot pon takde. tak menarik langsong.

going down underwater again.. one week to go before freedom!

catcha later folks..Cheers.

Am now in a one month spring break, Easter hols. And still no roadtrips cuz the days ahead are chockful of assignments and datelines. Also having the final exam once school starts again.. it's like I'm living my days and nights in the Lab nowadays. it's the final dash towards the last 2 hurdles of this course. and since everyone else is busy chasing after bunnies and chocolate eggs.. i'm doing my dashings on an empty and peaceful campus ground.

last week mama sez , don't work too hard, just relax and study, and fell free to extend your study to another year or half a year if you want to.

hmmmm... =P

and i'm on my tiptoes waiting for the next episodes of onepiece. now i can understand why nobita always goes to all that trouble to fold himself upand fit his whole body inside his desk drawer, to travel to the future...just to buy the next chapters of his favourite manga. Too bad my desk here doesn't have a drawer..and will i be able to fit in anyways..

One Miscall

I wasn't really always forgetful. It was just that my neurons and nuerotransmitters were sometimes out of focus, as they were always ganging up on me, they always went off to read One Piece whenever I really need to find my keys.

Kadang2, mesti ade je orang2 yang akan cuba buat lawak-
" cuba kau miscall sket kunci tu. senang sket nak carik."

Lepas ni tadek sape dah bley buat lawak bodo camtu. Bukan sebab saya dah tak pelupa lagi.
Tapi sebab skarang, dah memang boleh misscall kunci.

Hail the keyfinder which comes with a credit card sized 'caller' that can track my keys from inside the drawers, under the pillows, or from the Underground world beneath the floor crack.

The season

Posted by vash1282 on 3/17/2009 10:20:00 PM in
It's school hols. Which means its The season again.
That season that chickens hates and cows cow-ered from.
Where the rich do it effortlessly in luxury hotels, the not so rich either do it moderately or take out loans to do it like the rich.
And if I'm in Malaysia it will mean weekends of free lunch and road trips.

Already missed 2 sets of my friends wedding and going to miss another 3 confirmed dates this year. And 2 more from the officemates I presume?confirmkan korang, atul and arin? heh. Big congrats and all.. u guys are prob'ly gonna live happily ever after, or u have to die trying.

Curiously, these few weeks also witnessed the season of breakups. And not just breakups of simple puppy love couples.. but breakup over vows, engagement vows and marriage vows.
Listening to their problems.. observing the male counterparts of the other halves, some things just keeps on boiling in my head and I have these to say.

1. For the boy whose well intentioned pinangan was rejected..kesian. However thick her pheromones are engulfing you right now , however stupidly in love she made you feel, beb, zaman skarang ni mane ade orang masok meminang main terjah je!

2. For the married couple who got divorced, ugly as it is.. it's uglier when the guy badmouths the wife to another girl, read, Me. And so not cool if that other girl is not even your close friend, even worse if that girl is still single, it freaks us out on whatever frail believe we had on the fairy tale ending of a prince and princess in love. Ever heard of till death do us part?

Whose ever fault it is, I still think you are just finding faults with your wife because a) you are bored of her b) you had your eyes on some other girl.
it's either of these because you, are a typical Malay man. You had kids, and suddenly u too want to become a hyperactive boy? Enduring like an adult is out of the question? Grow up. Or better still, haul your ass to hell and kill yourself. Make sure u choke on your balls first, we wouldn't want another idiot with your genes accidently spawned on yr way to hell.

I'm like this because your reasons of breaking your vows are so effing unbelievable. I would really have not hate you if its because your wife beats u up , or if yr wife eats babies for breakfast or if she turns out to be a lesbian. She works. So she works? So she wouldn't quit? Are you a millionaire?
So SHE'S BUSY? She weren't busy when u guys were all over each other? PAH. It's another girl isn't it?

3. For the 2 broken engagements. If the guy's innit for sex, and if u know it and didn't leave him, that's your problem. And if u gave in, that's your problem too. Orang tua2 kate tepuk sbelah tak bebunyi. And if that's the only foundation to your relationship, I hate to say this, but what the hell else do you expect? Just thank god u don't have a baby to murder.

And to that other couple.. I am by default, always siding blindly to the girls. It's that ancient rule of bitches bunched together or some such pun. In yr case.. well sure, I pity u having bought all the trays of expensive gifts, all that family meetings with his side too. But u chose to do it despite knowing he's also engaged to another woman. It's either u or her. And why, do u have to degrade yrself as to wait until he broke it off with ya? What kind of lowlife scum gets engaged to 2 families anyway? kalau ye pon true love, tunggu la die ceraikan tunang die dulu. You should just fry him alive the moment u found out about his other fiancé.

4. I think a typical Malay man, a bad one, (shut up, i said, a bad man) is either a cheater, or a lazy ass liar, and mostly a cheater.

5. The type of guy I hate most is the one who acts all sweet boyfriend type when the girl's friends are around them. In private he treats her like a maid. when she's not there he asks his friends about other girl's number/email, and ask to be introduced to the next cute thing, and flirts around like there's no tomorrow, while his girlfriend waits on him on hands and foot. In other words, everyone else know how the girlfriend is being treated, but the girlfriend.
In the end, when he's finished using her, he tells her they are just friends.

This type of guys, I wish they'll get a taste of their own medicine. To be kind is to be cruel, if u have your sights set elsewhere, be a gentleman and break it off instead of playing with other's emotions. If u need a maid to cook and do your stuffs, get an Indon.

6. The type of girl I can't deal with is the ones who fell in love with someone else's boyfriend/fiancé/husband. I wouldn't wish that painful experience to any other girl.

For whatever reasons, I know break up sucks. For the girls, cry all u want, it'll get better once the tears are all dried up, just don't kill yourself.
For the boys.. suck it up.

7. And finally, accept the things to which fate binds you, and love the people with whom fate brings you together, but do so with all your heart..
-M.Aurelius

all hail the iQueen

Posted by vash1282 on 3/14/2009 09:28:00 PM in ,

the queen of all things Apple (macbook air barula king) finally arrived, officially unlocked, in Malaysia, brought by Maxis.

to those who has been salivating the glossy black finish(now it comes in white) when it first debutted and then who watched how the Japanese queued for 2 days before the day of its release in Jul last year.. and all we can do is nod our head and agree that although the japs's nation are made of crazy otakus and pervs; and standing in line for 2 days for a gadget is their normal way of life, we just had to agree, that it's completely worth it.

the first thing i bought after a few weeks of settling down here last year, is my own 16G white iPhone 3G. and life has been so much sweeter since. in UK at the pre-recession time, I got this gem for around GBP280 (RM 1452 following the current forex rate) which was much cheaper than my last sonyE W850i.Now the price has ballooned up again to almost GBP450. i guess it still worth it. why?

the iPhone is made effective and worth having because of it's associated applications made available for it, that can be downloaded for free or for a small fee from iTunes. i can be anywhere in Uk and it can track me and direct me with the map gps, from my position it can tell me the Qibla and praying time, it can tell me what's the star constellation right over my head at the position where i'm standing (exclusively for freaks only), it can show me the nearest train station and the schedule of all the trains stopping there, it can find me nearby restaurants plus reviews, i can make voip calls on skype and fring.. i could go on and on and sound like a crazy shop assistant.did i also mention it's extremely cool exterior?

and the games? don't get me started on the games. coolest GUI.

all things said.. the touch screen function far outpace other brands of touchscreen phones in terms of speed and accuracy. try to get yr hands on the latest batch of touchy-feely phones from Samsung, Sony E or HTC. I could only cackle satanically in glee when testing the HTC Diamond's snail paced touch reaction.

and all things said.. iPhone's camera is pretty useless. can't even do video without dloading external apps. but of course, its music function and extreme coolness makes up for that and more.

and all things said and done.. in conclusion the iPhone is successful mostly because of its nifty applications. and those nifty applications can only be fully enjoyed over REAL 3G network.
for less than RM1500 i got myself an iPhone, unlimited SMS package and unlimited surfing on REAL 3G network. and since the people i want to SMS here can be counted on one hand.. i can't ask for anything more.

the day i streamed youtube on the iPhone, ON a moving bus... and got smoothsailing videos of dongbangshinki's intricate dance steps.. i almost choked in compassion, terharu gile. bukan sebab diorang menari lawa.. tapi sebab streaming tak sangkot2 langsong. perfect.

now back to Maxis.. i understand the temptation to extort as much money as possible from the gadget crazy crowd in Malaysia.. i daresay a lot of people will willingly sell their soul and the shirt on their back for this phone, but the package they announced is pretty much cuththroat. memang kene kaya baru bley pakai iphone kat Malaysia.

the cheapest iPhone package is RM 1900 only for 8G ihone and RM2290 for the 16G. pay that, and another compulsory RM 100 montly. you will still be charged 0.10 per SMS. u get about 5 hours free call minutes... but got a LIMITED 500MB of data (for surfing/downloading). that's for the cheapest package. i mean.. why the hell limited surfing? that's half the purpose of having an iPhone OK. after 500MB you'll be charged 0.50sen per KB. for the other package check their website. even the most expensive package at RM375montly, you'll get a limited 3Gigabyte data surfing.

if u hv the money.. i guess anyone will go for the nearest to unlimited surfing..and 3Gig is a lot even for me. even 500MB is alot. they really just want to extort as much as possible by allowing different levels of access.

unless u just want the iphone for accessorizing i guess u wouldn't mind that. i guess not many people spend 24 hours of their days googling and on youtube and searching for directions and checking emails..and..wait..why don't you just buy the old black and white nokia then?

now before i came here..i was a user of the 3G unlimited package of Celcom's for almost 2 years. and most of the time i tried the video on demand or just plain web surfing, i ended up banging the phone on the wall. there seems to be no clear distinction between the 56KB dial up and the so called 3G network. i don't know how it is over there now, but looking at the fact that i've only been away for 6 months, and looking at the low yat forum, where the entries for official complaints on Celcom's 3G network is now entering it's 5th version due to the flood of complaints, you can only guess that it's not improving much. In fact, it's allegedly degraded more badly than before. and erm.. since they are sharing the same backbone facilities as Maxis..i can only bet that it's the same difference.

and you still get limited surfing for that.
hahah.
why am i caring so much anyway. i already got my iPhone. and i surf without a ceiling limit hanging over my head and all the star constellations in the world, for free.*evil laugh*
