all set

Posted by vash1282 on 8/31/2008 11:38:00 AM in
albeit oversleeping and becoming famous because of it.. the 5 days btn was kinda fun. surrounded by throngs of well-oiled brains have a way to make you feel like an idiot on a set of rusty wheels.. and kinda makes me lose orientation for a moment there. makes me wonder if i'll be able to survive the satellite crash course, or 'oversleeping' the entire duration. another week spent with the normal crowd kinda puts me back on track... in the first place.. studying in UK was never really my first priority, right? heheh.

cracking my brain open to choose on which clothes to bring..and looking at the constraint space in the luggage...that's like, the most depressing moment in all of my packing history.

the documents are cleared, bloody passport also cleared, my stuffs are all boxed up....and i guess i'm all set. (^_^)

The Ramadhan announcement will be aired tonight, wishing everyone a blessed month of fasting ahead..
As the crescent moon is sighted,
And the holy month of Ramadhan begins,
May Allah bless you with happiness,
And grace your home with warmth & peace..

sent the farewell emails. love the responses. love the farewell potluck food. sending it makes it seems more real that i'm going away, and hell i have too much to do and i still don't have any whatever form of a checklist. can someone please give me a checklist. i need to know what the hell issit that i'm probably forgetting to do.

sis came home from her 2nd day at work looking like dead cabbage being trampled on by obessed hippos. all wrinkley and brownish and wet droopy eyes, looking like she'd be grateful if i just gutted her stomach with wolverine claws and kill her right there. barfed like crazy at work and ladies there askin if she was preggers. i never really knew work stress can get that bad.
really broke my heart to see her like that. do have a lil bit more faith in yrself ok.. i'm really at loss at what to do here.

back to my checklist. or the non-existence of one. i know i have to buy luggage at some point.. and erm...... ? argh..malasssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssnye!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

rambling

i know i'm supposed to write about 'security'.wrote half and tossed it away. maybe later.

this past few days work is all about Very Annoying iDiotS that of course no amount of bitching can justify the fact that i still picked up the phone and deal with extreme stupidity. not saying i'm a rocket scientist or anything, but what do you call people who wants to prove a perfectly OK network as faulty; by injecting errors? let me spell this out, errors equals fault, idiot. if u inject errors, there is no way any network on earth can sustain that and still be clean, idiot. i hope all of u rot in hell and died with errors injected in your bloodstream, piercing holes into yr veins and blocking yr arteries and please die a slow and gory death and be reborn as polka dotted public phones.

a birdman once asked a birdy albeit sticky, question. "for how long do you want to keep on working?". i did not answer, cuz i know the right answer, as perceived by typical sticky guys would be "when i get married and have children and be a nanny to my own children bla bla".
let's get real ok. i'll do that if i got married to bill gates.

if they don't have to, who on earth wants to work anyway. in primary school my ambition was to be a librarian. in secondary school i changed it to 'working in a book store'. cuz if i wrote comic store my parents will probably burnt up ev'ry 'book' I owned then. I took up computer science by the time i got to college cuz everybody else wants to be a doctor. so basically, i don't even know what my dream job is.

the current job i'm doing is probably as interesting as any job could get, and i get to meet all levels of idiots and learn from the smarts. probably gonna miss those phone calls and idiots and everything the job comes packaged with. gonna miss the satisfaction of solving and bitching about those idiot's problem. the SpreadShits.and the igloo office. and the people. probably gonna miss my colleaugues the most. and the gossips. the free muffins. the dramas. the SLR fanatics. the self absorbed gays. so as far as i'm concerned, i'm leaving behind a dream job.

having said this, i hope i won't be coming back to the same job.haha.
well.. if the idiot HR doesnt' lose my letter again, that is.

Old Time, in whose banks we deposit our notes
Is a miser who always wants guineas for groats;
He keeps all his customers still in arrears
By lending them minutes and charging them years.
~Oliver Wendell Holmes

time is something i'm still grasping at, still hanging in there, still acting as if i've got all the times in the world, bitten by the lazy bug in at least 2million different places on my body. leaving everything to the last second.

reminds me of that treasure hunt riddle that defies all of us.
Why is Amin Supermaket a "small time?"

green barf with kinders bueno on top

Posted by vash1282 on 6/19/2008 08:26:00 PM in
why kinders? just my fav.
why barf? cuz i can't take it anymore.
why green? it's the season for hulks.

i used to thought that i hate girl beaters and lying guys the most.

now i think i hate excel spreadsheets more. and lying gay guys.

i hate having to do the highly clerical, demeaning, absolutely worthless task of going through hundreds of rows of network fault records for the whole freaking year., just to prove the well known fact that people are liars. which is why i have to force daisy, zam and cheeps to do it too.(thanx a lot for willingly joining the SpreadShit Slaves Anonymous).

people will manipulate an innocent ice cream if no one's looking. like turn it into a yucky green mint color instead of just the perfect chocolate color with just the right interferences of the occasional vanilla white, just cuz no selfrespecting fat persons will ever risk to be seen with chocolate. just eat the damn chocolate, green isn't always healthy anyway, and green taste like wood.and it's the color of spreadshits. shits just reminds me of ice creams. i really can't think about anything else.

i want to barf on subsidiaries.and spreadshits.

what the hell were you thinking?

Posted by vash1282 on 6/15/2008 01:38:00 AM in
There's this time at a car wash that I accidently left the comic book that I was reading and had to come back and geddit. and the Indon worker sez something like "what the hell were you thinking?" in an unintelligible jawa slang that makes me feel like slapping him. Just becuz of the slang. Probably reminds me of that maid that used to ran away from our home with my then precious copies of Galaxy magazine featuring the Moffatts.

I alwez gets this kinda question, probably cuz of my stupid habit of leaving a trail of keys, pens and whatever else I'm holding, everywhere. My subconscious is just trying to protect me, u know, so that people can find me if some green man from the Underground land emerged from beneath the cracks and kidnapped me.

But no one really expects an answer to this question do they? If I answered, Domino's pepperoni and OnePiece, would it satisfy them? It'll probably trigger bucketloads of insults anyway.

What the hell was I thinking? Most of the time, nothing..really.

unrest

Posted by vash1282 on 6/11/2008 05:38:00 PM in
The oil hike is creating so much unrest everywhere. it's that kind of announcement where no one can say 'i couldn't care less what they decide at the round table' to. Unless they are from the Flinstones family and hasn't discover wheels aint made out of rocks. the hike is going on a steep hill, and will keep on increasing until it reached the ceiling, and no one really can see where the ceiling is at the mo. Wished I could voodoo those guys interviewed by TV3 who sez stuffs like "mungkin kita boleh cuba naik basikal" or "mari menjayakan industri perkhidmatan awam negara." I'll definitely murder anyone who dared to suggest Hari Basikal Negara or some such bull. Hell, they are even counting how many days it will take for an anarchy to happen among the Brits for crying out loud.Answer's 3 days. Stop being in denial.and yeah i am a black cloud singing for my dinner.

The stock market's crawling at a hundred year's old snail pace, with an occasional burst here and there as the snail coughed up blood and rolled faster. for a field that feed almost entirely on speculation, and since oil price per barrel speculations is a now a much hotter topic than Meredith and McDreamy getting back together, the Bursa is a freaking gossip mess. the silver lightning is, some company's shares are going below their IPO price, and an optimist will empty out their piggies and just buy everything under the sun. That's what the EPF did apparently, one of the two heaviest traders in this dark times. (say, whose money in EPF?)

and hey..did u know about floating transmission towers for internet in rural areas? interesting huh? rumors are google's investing innit for it's gphone.. so instead of boring old WiFi, give way to Balloon-Fi, floating cell-data tranceivers. The wallstreetjournal reports that since the balloon's are kapish after 24hrs, they are hiring farmers mostly, to constantly launch new balloons, and get this, those farmers get paid USD 50 per launch in southern US. PER launch. those farmers who lives pretty much like Flinstones anyway, probably can say they couldn't care less about oily stock exchange and be less restless , they've got cows!and balloons.

"ma happy betul hr ni. manalah tahu.doa ma nak dmakbul.orang tengah pun baik.dia nak sbyg istikharah dulu.kenal je la dulu.bukan kene buat apape.balik nanti dah ade org tunggu"

while i was busy contemplating the indication of a diamond studded ring on his long, tapered, (manicured?) fourth finger, a peace shattering sms arrived from mummy dearest. The start of many others. Where'd she find all this people anyway.

i think my getaway plan just backfired. knowing i plan to be away from here in a few months, she's started to line up all possible prospects, middle mens and 'interviews'.

for crying out loud, i haven't even draft out my to do travel list or anything yet, much less the visas and whatnots and yeah, she's missing out on one important detail. It's not even confirmed yet. Another important detail, who ask her to be so happy so soon anyway. And yet another, i don't want anyone to wait for me dammit.

geez. it's taken a turn for the worse. i think i'm probably registered in my hometown's matchmaking company or sumthing. probably. the fun of planning anything today just got sucked out big time.

oo yeah. that ring. why? geeeez. need ice cream.

For all your great consultation and advices, you sure had me fooled.

Sure, I believe it when you said most guys are just sucker for sex and it ruled their life.Fine, most guys are girl beaters, cheaters and liars. Girls are no better. The seas of manipulative bitches out there could form an army and take over BN faster than the opposition, they wove their spider web of lies at the speed of light.
I thought you preached on open communication and honesty, u r one of the most honest person I knew anyway. I’m no expert, having as much relationship experience as a dead pig have in all of its lifetime, but toying with people’s feeling just ain’t cool. And bragging about it too? Uncool.

U want a relationship? Like it or not u r already in one. Stop dissing her. She likes u, and u said she’s all that great too. She had all the specs u look for and again, she likes u. what’s this bullshit about friends with benefit? This ain’t one tree hill, and u ain’t Lucas. Friends don’t call each other ‘sayang’ and whatever annoying petnames you gave each other. Friends don’t text each other ‘I missed u baby’ and all that shit. And you call her stupid when she starts getting attached? Whatever cards that u’ve laid on the table, however often u tell her u guys are just friends, why are u leading her on anyway? Either cut ties and scram or go for her. I say if she wants it too, then go for it. If u don’t want relationships just date whores. Not like you haven’t done it before.

For all your great consultation and advises, you are just another east coast guy.

just got back from my first celebration 'kampai' session, and an attempt to convince fatiha long distance relationship will never work. i still believe in 'kuasa cinta' as cheeps call it.. but trust me..if that guy waits faithfully for you for the whole of 4 years while u r on the other side of the world,he's either Oprah in disguise or he just din't manage to attract any manipulative bitches out there. Or maybe, just maybe, he beats all odds and there really is The One out there.

Since i can't sleep anyway and tonight seems to be the night to drop bombshell news, here goes folks. I actually stopped by the road a few weeks ago and tresspass a rubber tree plantation for the sake of ending that annoying '3' road trip jokes.

here, is how you identify a rubber tree, by the 3 err..branch? twig? i dunnow. ALL the trees shares this same trait, unless they are genetically deformed. Kinda like why a small pool of the human race are idiots, if the rubber tree doesn't have the 3 thingy, it is an idiot tree.
I think I was sure it is a rubber tree plantation, what other trees would have those lil' pail thingy dangling on the side right? Oh well even if I'm wrong.. that joke will expire in one year 's time hahaha. All forces, forward to Isengarddddddd!!!

the Getaway...?

Posted by vash1282 on 5/28/2008 06:05:00 PM in
...
There's these buncha Uruk Hai in an enclosed room.
2 sits facing me, by their weathered air and thousand fine lines under their eyes,
they look at least a hundred years old. A younger one sits facing the wall, shuffling papers with a mighty air, u'll get the impression the core of the earth might just split into two if she stop shuffling those damned pages. I was the lone lamb going for slaughter, facing the mighty Uruk Hais to gamble my freedom, the key to my Getaway plan. They preyed on my neediness, I was a helpless beggar.

Then one of the wrinkled prunes, the oldest of the Uruk hai, spoke and her voice vibrated around the room, signifying her worth among the 3.
"What is your opinion on our New Economic Policy?"
and another one spoke up "Why do you think the government fared badly in the last election?" And it all went downhill from there.

If you are a thinker, your brain is the power & yr opinion is the killer, right?
So I went and dug my own grave by giving an honest opinion.
Needless to say I went in the room as a pessimist, and came out even more so. When people ask for opinion, all they actually want to hear is their opinion, in your voice. Bloody Uruk Hais cackled at me like they are a better being, and I wished them all an agonizingly slow, gory death of being nitpicked with a nail clipper to their last drop of blood as I went out the door.

...

That was weeks ago. Just found out the Uruk Hais actually gave me the green flag, gave what I came snivelling for.The reason? They probably approved every applications on their desk, and make other people's life miserable, waiting in uncertaintiess just because they can. (hey cheeps, fatiha thnx for the alert. of course, if i didn't get it, u'd be first in line to receive the aftermath fury)

So anyway,Getaway Plan Stage 1 :CLEARED!
take off - SEPT 2008-SEPT 2009.
destination : Isengard,Middle Earth

the daft Smeagol from freakyland.

Posted by vash1282 on 5/20/2008 03:47:00 AM in
it's a lesson to be learned. don't sit on yr fat ass too long without exercise, or yr brain will be so full of fat you can't differentiate between korean guys or plain yellow chinese men. Or between fatigue and faulty contact lenses.

barely a whole lap of jogs, half hearted jumparounds and 10 mins into a squasy game, my vision gave out on me. It was the scariest sensation ever. everthing went BLACK. no dizziness, not even that tired, but still it was like some freaky Smeagol emerged from the court's wall and reached into my eyeballs and took out my sight with it's scaly dry fingers, cornea, lenses and all.

the longest 1-2 mins ever before the freaky Smeagol decided to return back my vision and dissapeared back into the walls.

My first reaction was to bin my contact lenses..altho, it prob'ly doesn't have anything to do with it. Second reaction was of course to stop playing, and binge on sushi king. there goes some more fat to my brain.

Geezzzz...it was scary.

Trippin'

Posted by vash1282 on 5/06/2008 05:18:00 AM in

Just got back from a 1300++ KM road trip to the North, and it never ceased to amaze me how every time I swore I have had enough of cramping for hours in cars.. I’ll still jump at the chance of another trip. Probably cuz I know the others will never inna million years let me drive and will just lemme be the idiot navigator hehe.

LFV – Lost & Found Virus

On each of the roadtrips, we could never fail to get lost. This time, I didn’t hold the map upside down even once, and we still got freaking lost everywhere! So lost that we desperately ended up at the Juru police station. That kinda set an LFV on everyone’s navigation nose, as Arin managed to get lost inside the Komtar mall and had to be rescued. It’s not really our fault that me, Fizi and Arol immediately got lost in the same mall too an hour after Arin was rescued, it was The Virus. Aji was working overtime rescuing people with LFV, as Arin’s car, full of infected people, missed the Jelapang exit and had to be chased and brought back to meeting point.

Most Infected LFV carrier : Arin

Penang/Kedah/Perlis/Pahang

Managed to realize our long time desire of running around and taking pictures in paddy fields which we didn’t get to do on our last trip. Stopped by someone’s sawah by the roadside, albeit being scared that paddy photography will bring bad luck to everyone’s future relationship hehe (entirely Fik’s fault). Somehow the whole of Perlis is out of electricity by the time we get there, at least it seems to effect Gua Kelam and Padang Besar. We learned there’s Ampang, Kelang and Serdang up north, and make a few ‘learned’ assumptions such as Orang Asli people sells voodoo stuffs on the roadside down the hills of Cameron guarded by trained hunting dogs. Sometimes they’ll use a pair of tattered Converse sneakers (bought bundle) as a coins purse. It’s also normal for them to risk death and crap on the roadsides. The sloping hills with it’s cold air and breathtaking sceneries makes me wish that I lived there. It’s not a bad idea really.. I can cycle to work, wear fancy jackets everyday and if I want entertainment, I can always go and watch the Orang Asli do voodoo. People there worships TM anyway.

It’s a real fun trip with the essential food search, self obsessed photo sessions and Chinese operas.

The trip would have been rated 100% successful if we managed to get to Penang on time to smuggle out pirated DVDs.

Most Favorite Pit Stop : Cameron Highlands

Most Fussy Shopper : Azrol.

Food

The seafood at Kuala Perlis. Seriously beats all others. Ikan jenahak and geruk2 flavoured with the the perfect seasonings, grilled to a crispy finish, pleased our taste buds no ends. We arrived there as a buncha hungry thundering Uruk Hai as we got lost (as usual) on the way to the famous Gerai Lynda, thanx to the direction that Aji got from a stupid penjaga toilet. All is forgiven however, as we sink our teeth into the tender, sweet flesh of dead fishes, squids and crabs. The steamboat at Cameron is too much overrated, reputation-wise and price-wise.

Most Favorite Food Stop : Gerai Lynda, and that scrumptious roti canai place at Tanah Rata

Most Valuable Lesson : Never trust a penjaga toilet with directions or food opinions. Just give em coins.

After

Back to work, to endless phone calls, endless excel SpreadShits, roomful of idiot account executives(well, just one) and to the department’s new tagline-“Managing Perceptions”.

"Looking at the design and piling progress for the foundation, it looks like we are building a hotel. However when the building is ready, we used it for an office. The parking spaces are allocated with hotel residents in mind, where cars come and go. However, since it is now an office, cars are parked there all day. So now we have parking problems too. "

The ITSSO Head's word by word replay. An expected argument, an unusual comment.
On how he viewed the operation team's wish lists for a new, enhanced support system (yeah, another one). To the developers, we ask for the world and underutilized most things they gave. To the operations, the support systems we get were never good enough.

To me, stop making the vendors filthy rich already.

sick of cars again.

We were just innocent civillians looking forward to having dinner some place new.
They were just 'innocent' navigators who were looking forward to bypass the evening traffic, ignoring the Shortest-Path-First algorithm, leading us into a labyrinth of twisted, shady wood trails, paths uncharted in conventional maps. The road trip frm Cyberjaya to Melaka took a record breaking 4 hours. Along the way we learned that people in kampung bunians watched chinese operas for entertainment. We were all dried up hungry dugongs rolling about in the backseat by the time we get there. Inachan was right, hail the PLUS highway, hail Samy!
guess I'm not the world's worst navigator after all (;^_^)

Decided to go back to johor and make the lifes of my bratty bros a bit more miserable.
and since I'm sick of cars, I let my sis take the wheels. I learned that my sis can drive a roller coaster. After the first hour of occasional screamings, I decided that I can't stomach the hair raising near death experience of incompetence driving, prayed for miracle and slept through all the way.

Home's as chaotic as expected. The bros are a lot less brattier tho, the splitted butt incident seems to have mellowed their spirit. Mom's still thinking that men grows on trees, and all the men on the trees are perfect with no pretty-nail guys, liars, wife beaters or gays. So she's taken a personal offense that her daughters are still single, and I seem to be provoking an upcoming outburst of a storm. Probably not too early to plan my getaway now.. =P

Went to see 'lil irene..**cute! ahjon-san & dali-san, congrats & best of luck wif the kid ne..(^_^)

Another long drive tmorrow...

Death by Blogging

Posted by vash1282 on 4/08/2008 02:13:00 AM in
Stress of Blogging can kill you. I plead, not guilty. All rise : Released on Bail.

Seriously. People died. Toiling on the computer, squeezing out the brain juices needed to put thoughts into words into webs probably need humongous amount of brain power, (if u r just mumbling nonsensical nonsense on yr blog like me and still died, man... yr brain muscle badly need exercise). The same people who died trying to blog will probably get auto-self-electrocuted by their own neutrons if you ask them to put their thoughts into action.Pure Stress.

Quote from NewYork Times "Other bloggers complain of weight loss or gain, sleep disorders, exhaustion "....Suddenly blogging's a new diet technique. (cue, inachan!)

I might not have to wring my neck trying to focus on my ABCs, but I am guilty of stressing myself out on other stuffs. Although I might not drop dead on the office carpet due to stress, drooling blood and puking intestines (not just yet) , I was ready to get a shot gun and make other people drool blood instead.

The one week work trip on the east coast was like a stress medicine sent from heaven.
An escape from the usual pattern. Breathtaking sceneries, the food, the people, the food, the sheer fun of hearing mixed syllables and distorted words. Don't even mind being cramped inside the car for 3 days. Tapai and Kak Aishah were fun companions. Of course, if I were asked to stay for, say, another month I might start to have the urge to shoot people again =P.

you know i've been reading that stress is the new age disease and everything, but really, blogging kills? If those guys didn't die during blogging, they'd probably die playing video games, or died watching Akademi Fantasia. (Geez, I tried. 100% accelerated brain power required to digest the pure pointlessness of the entire production).

It's back to work... and it's killing me to stay here, staring at the long list of pending items
(bling*lazy-ass-idiot mode*bling*) ..with my shot gun and imaginary little practice target people all tucked inside my drawers.
Already can't wait for weekends.
